Rachel Barnett

Rachel Barnett is a board member for the Littleton Elementary School District Governing Board and the current ASBA Black Alliance President. Mrs. Barnett has a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Hampton University and a Masters degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. She has served in various Leadership and Urban Development Programs throughout the years, including as the Arizona State Secretary for the NAACP.

Mrs. Barnett works for the nonprofit Valle del Sol as a Therapist providing Culturally Informed Behavioral Health Services to underserved communities. Prior to relocating to Arizona from Cleveland, Ohio in 2019, Mrs. Barnett served on the Cuyahoga County Community Service Board and was recognized as Community Provider of the Year by Murtis Taylor, HSS.

Mrs. Barnett was the first in her family to graduate from high school and knows first hand the barriers that many students face as well as the importance of a quality education. Mrs. Barnett is a mother of six and is dedicated to ethicality, equality and believes that positive change can only be achieved through forward thinking and individually ensuring that the overall well-being of each student is prioritized.
