Meeting the Needs of Gifted Children

Who are these ‘Gifted’ children and how do we meet their needs is a question perplexing many people.  This session will explore some surprising attributes of gifted children and ways in which we can help them rise to meet their potential.  We will look into ways in which we identify our gifted students as well as an overview of how we can meet the social, emotional and educational needs of these extraordinary young people.  

Vicki Massey, PD Consultant: STEM, Pedagogy in Teaching, Gifted Education Endorsement trainings. After retiring as an educator for 30 years, Vicki  has been a Gifted Education Consultant since 2015.  She has done gifted education training for over 700 teachers in Arizona and Bogota, Colombia. Her experience as an educator of these extraordinary students, for 10 years in Mesa Public Schools, has shaped the way she approaches helping teachers understand how to identify and meet the needs of gifted students at any grade level.
