Dr. Lewis Andrea Brownlee

Black, Indigenous, People Of Color (BIPOC) And Women Workers Remain Underrepresented In The Science, Technology, Engineering, The Arts, And Math (S.T.E.A.M.) Workforce. However, For The Teaching Profession, Women Are Overrepresented While BIPOC And Men Are Underrepresented. To Address All Of These Concerns Mentioned Above, Mesa Community College Has Created The Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead Initiative In Partnership With Mesa Public Schools. The Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead Initiative Will Be Using Interactive S.T.E.A.M. Activities That Present Challenges And Encourage Students To Like Subjects Like Math And Science And Perhaps Consider Teaching S.T.E.A.M. Subjects As A Career. In Addition, Students Will Be Learning About Men And Women In S.T.E.A.M. Who Look Like Them And Share Their Worldview.
