Devin Del Palacio is a shining example of leadership, hard work, and dedication. A lifelong resident of Arizona, he has dedicated himself to empowering and serving his community and has achieved tremendous success in his efforts. Growing up with a single mother, Devin learned the value of hard work at a young age, and despite facing financial challenges, he excelled academically while attending eight different public schools.
In 2012, Devin began work as a Community Organizer and successfully registered 34,000 minority voters in South and West Phoenix. He then took the next step in his commitment to making a positive impact and ran for a seat on the Tolleson Union High School District Governing Board in 2014. Not only did he win the election, but he made history as the first African American to serve on the board in the district’s 100-year history and took office as Vice President and would later for on to serve as President of the Board.
Devin’s efforts have earned him numerous recognitions, including being named one of the Greater Phoenix Urban League’s Top 40 under 40 in public service, as well as being honored by the Cesar Chavez Foundation, The City of Phoenix, NASA-JPL, and the Arizona School Board Association for his commitment to creating equitable schools and safe neighborhoods.
In addition to his work in the community, Devin has served as a Solar System Ambassador for eight years, spreading his passion for space and science to others. And now, his achievements have reached new heights as he was recently accepted into the International Institute for Astronautical Sciences, where he will train and prepare for suborbital space flight.
Devin continues to take a national leadership role, serving as Chairman for the National Black Council of School Board Members. In 2022, he was appointed to the Arizona State House of Representatives, where he worked tirelessly to create positive change in his community. With his passion, drive, and dedication, Devin Del Palacio is a true inspiration to us all.
